March 2012

Dear Friend,

March 2012

During this season of Lent, we are making the journey with those who are preparing for baptism in the Catholic faith. Known as catechumens before Lent, we call them now the elect, for God has chosen them to join us in this journey of faith. We join the elect in this period of purification and enlightenment as we face more intensely our need for God’s mercy and grace. The articles of this Lenten Pictureissue address issues and practices that are a part of our Lenten tradition. We hear of one person’s search for truth. Fr. Frank’s words on spirituality are fitting for all Catholics, not just those on evangelization teams. We look at fasting, self-discipline, and salvation. In whatever path we choose for our Easter preparation, may it lead us more deeply into faith-filled witness that reveals God’s invitation to all.

Send us your own stories of evangelization so that we can share with others the many opportunities we have to reach those who have not yet heard the Good News. If you wish to keep this issue on hand, download the PDF version.

Sincerely, Fr. Tony Krisak, Editor

With Part 6 in his series on evangelization teams, Fr. Frank DeSiano addresses the need to be rooted in a deep spirituality that finds expression in our outreach to others. Not only evangelization teams, but all Catholics, will benefit from reading Fr. Frank’s reflection.
