Dear Friend,

August 2010

How many ways can we share in this vital mission of evangelization?  The people we need to reach are so numerous.  The methods of outreach, invitation, and welcome are far more than any one person could handle.  The good news is that there is some piece of this mission for every person who shares the Catholic faith with us.  At PNCEA, we want to provides the resources and tools that will help you become an integral part of this mission.

Let us know how we can serve you and the Church.  We always welcome your comments and stories. Let us hear from you and consider sending this to a friend. Thank you.

Why Not Consider Becoming a Catholic?  In his new book, Fr. Frank DeSiano, CSP, president of PNCEA, lays out reasons for considering the Catholic faith.  Consider giving it as a gift to someone you know who is searching. Make it available in your parish for those who have questions about the Catholic faith.

Welcoming Seekers: Ten years ago, the USCCB, in Journey to the Fullness of Life, reported these statistics about parish implementation of the RCIA.

  • 15% of parishes have a year-round RCIA process,
  • 46% use a “9-month” format,
  • 13% use a one-on-one approach, and
  • the remainder (26%) have no RCIA or do something else.
